Bridal Tea

Heather's bridal was also last weekend, and so precious I might add! they have a houndstooth theme for the wedding, and the tea was no different! Anyway, here are a few pics I got before my camera died!

I have a little story to share too:
Kyleigh went home with me after the tea to play for a little while, and we always have very interesting conversations as were are driving home. Sunday was no different: if you don't live in Hueytown, you won't understand this, but I thought it was hysterical! Everyone knows the Arby's has been renovated, and from the front there are THREE Arby's logos, so it appears to say Arby's Arby's Arby's. Evan and I noticed it the other day and had a laugh about it. Well, we are driving, and Kyleigh is trying to explain to me where the "store you get prizes at" (the dollar store) is and says to me, "you know, it's that store by the nail place and Arby's Arby's Arby's." I cracked up. I asked her what she thought about it saying that, and her reply was: "well I think it could have just said Arby's and that would have been fine." classic. 6 years old going on 25.

Hostess Time! (And I'm not talking about the cupcakes!)

Last weekend I hosted my very first shower at our house. We had a Tool&Gadget party for Evan's cousin Jason and his fiancee' Heather. They are getting married next month, and I really wanted to do something cool for them, so this shower turned out pretty neat! I handmade most everything I used, and had a lot of fun "crafting" since I haven't really had an excuse to lately! Anyway, enjoy photos from that night:
Flowers on the eating table were made from MawMaw and David's funeral flowers. Eventhough they weren't physically there with us, they were there in spirit... we miss them everyday!

Furniture extravaganza!

So, needless to say, my furniture card has expired. After the many projects Evan helped me complete, he is WAY over it haha! Here are a few new pieces, courtesy of Knock-Off-Wood of course! Oh, and the end table was still wet in the picture, but I will take another one now that I have moved it upstairs and it is dry!
My new end table: lots of folks help build this one, and of course it looks amazing now that it's dry! yay!

These are sawhorses that we made for Jason and Heather as their gift for their Tool&Gadget party we hosted. I loved them, and hope Jay and Heather did too... they LOVE Alabama, and if anything, they were handmade from the heart just for them!

And finally, my absolute FAVORITE thing in our entire home, my new FLOATING SHELVES!!! I love these because I can constantly change whats on them, and I have TONS of display room now. One of my least favorite things about my decor in our house was there was not very much surface area to decorate with "tabletop" items... and now that problem is no more! I love these things, and everyone needs a set of these!

Kyleigh's Birthday

We all went and ate dinner a few weeks ago for Kyleigh's Birthday. She had such a good birthday! She got lots of cool presents. Here are some pics from the party (I included some funny candids too!)

I think it's safe to say that she liked her gifts from us! (they made her go cross-eyed!)
