Evan and I are proud to officially announce to the world that we are expecting our first child! Baby Nelson is set to make their appearance on July 25, 2011, which also happens to be our 2nd wedding anniversary. We are overjoyed to meet this little one and can't wait to know if we have a boy or a girl! I really want a boy, but something is telling me that this one is a girl. So, I have spent time looking at girly baby things and trying to get more comfortable with the idea of having a girl, so now whatever we end up with is going to make me so happy. Evan is already a great Dad. He accuses me of worrying about the pregnancy, but he is just as bad. (We took a whopping 14 pregnancy tests over a 2 week span so he could make sure HCG was still being detected!!) He is so amazed each time we have had an ultrasound, I love to watch him get so excited. Until recently, it has been very hard to realize what exactly is happening: We are having a baby. At my 12 week visit, we got another scan and this time, it finally hit me that there was a person growing inside of me. What we had come to know as a little blob, now had a brain, spine, arms, and legs. The tech shook my belly up a little so that baby would unfold their legs and seeing the baby wiggle and unstretch it's legs took my breath away. If this is how I will feel each time my child does something new, what a wonderful feeling to have! We already have a girl name locked in, and middle names for a boy, but haven't been able to decide on a first name for a boy. Evan has 3 names so our baby will too. We have a little while before we can start calling our baby by name, but I'm so ready to! I'm a planner so I have themes in mind already for a nursery, boy or girl, and can't wait to get going! I am going to have to do better blogging since there will be lots of exciting and new things happening in our lives!
