Well where do we begin? I wanted for all of our friends and family (in and out of town) to keep updated with all that goes on in our two busy lives! The month of December was a big one for us:
The world was greeted by Koleman Thomas Nelson- Evan's new nephew! Evan got to take off work for a couple of hours to be at the hospital for his arrival. Kole is so precious- just like his big sister Kyleigh!

Evan graduates from the Alabama Fire College as a paramedic! After juggling classes, rotations, and shifts at the firestation, he finally did it. Ronee & Bobby, MawMaw & Grandaddy, Melissa, Jason, my mom, Chuck, Randy, and I all came to see him graduate! I could not be more proud of him for accomplishing his goals of becoming a firefighter. In addition to receiving his diploma, Evan was voted by his peers as "Most Improved Student" and was awarded a special plaque. He now has a well deserved break until February, when rookie school will begin for 9 weeks. He will also take his National EMT Registry on January 9th- Wish him luck!
The next day after graduation, we embarked on a well-deserved vacay to Gatlinburg, Tennessee for 5 days and 4 nights. We went with Johnathan and his girlfriend, Laura- we had such a blast! Some things we did included: visiting the Ripley's Aquarium, taking Old-Tyme Photos dressed in Western costumes, eating LOTS of good food, touring Cade's Cove, almost getting attacked by an 8 point (according to Evan), seeing the Christmas in Dixie show at Dixie Stampede, riding the tram up to Ober Gatlinburg and iceskating, eating some more food, playing pool at the cabin and hanging out by the fire, shopping, and against the opinions from everyone else in the group visiting the Scrapbook Superstore! I was prepared with a huge list of things that we had to go see- we did them all! It was so nice to relax with friends and sleep in. I had to ask upon several occasions what day of the week it was: now that's relaxation!

Evan and Bobby signed the contract on our new house! For those of you that don't know, the house is a foreclosure that has been vandalized on the interior. For example: holes in the sheet rock, damage to the showers in order to steal copper, destroyed carpet, and a stolen air-conditioning unit. This allowed us to have a bigger and soon-to-be nicer house to fit our smaller price range. We could not be more excited to close and begin renovations. We thank Bobby, Ronee, my mom & dad, and anyone else who will or already is contributing with advice, support, and elbow-grease to make our dream come true and turn our "house" into a home. We love you and appreciate you all more than you will ever know!
